Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2, 2026.
This explains what PinWatcher (pinwatcher.com and the app at app.pinwatcher.com) keeps about you, why, who helps us run it, and how to delete it. In short: we keep what the app needs to work for you, we never sell it, and you can delete your account and everything in it at any time.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address, your name if you give one, and your password, kept only as a salted, slow hash that cannot be turned back into the password.
- What you keep in the app: your projects (the keywords and website addresses you add), saved pins and keywords, lists, tracked keywords and websites, the Pinterest accounts you follow or mark as yours, and your alert settings (such as a Slack or Discord address).
- How much you use it: how many Pinterest lookups you made each day, for the daily limit. We keep these counts for a week.
- One cookie, which keeps you logged in. It lasts 30 days from the last time you use the app. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics.
- Technical logs: our host, Cloudflare, records requests (such as IP addresses) for a short time, to keep the service secure and working.
Pinterest’s public information
PinWatcher reads information anyone can see on Pinterest: search results, pins and their numbers, boards, public profiles, ideas pages and Pinterest Trends. It keeps this so every user can look it up. It is not information about you as a PinWatcher user, and we never ask for your Pinterest password.
What we use it for
- To run the app for you, and keep each person’s data their own.
- To email you about your account: confirming your address, and choosing a new password when you ask.
- To send the weekly summary, which you can switch off in Settings or with the link in any summary.
- To send your alerts where you asked: Slack, Discord or a webhook of yours.
- To keep the service fair and safe: daily limits, and stopping abuse.
Who helps us run it
We never sell your information or share it for advertising. These services handle it for us, only to run PinWatcher:
- Cloudflare hosts the app and its database, and sends our emails.
- Anthropic writes AI pin briefs. For a brief we send a keyword and public information about the pins ranking for it, never your account details.
- Slack, Discord or your webhook get your alerts, only if you set them up.
How long we keep it
Your account and everything in it stay until you delete them. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) removes your account, projects, saved items, lists, trackers, alerts and notifications at once. Notifications are kept for 90 days, and daily usage counts for a week.
Your choices
- See and change your name, email and password in Settings.
- Switch the weekly summary off, and remove any alert channel, in Settings.
- Delete your account and its data in Settings, at any time.
- Ask us what we keep about you, or anything else about your data, at support@pinwatcher.com.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS. Passwords are kept as PBKDF2 hashes, the login cookie cannot be read by scripts or sent by other websites, and links we email expire.
Children
PinWatcher is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly keep information about them.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top. For a change that matters, we tell account holders by email.
